Well guys, I know you wanted me to make a gauge for laying your curves with flex track, don't worry I have not forgotten you. They are still on the drawing board. I do not want to copy somebody else's work so you know I will come up with something grand.
I did however come up with handy gauge for laying your flex track straight, it is 12 inches long and 5/8" wide and 1/4 of an inch tall.
The nice thing about it (as with all my tools) it not only sits inside the rails but also on top of the rails, it does not touch the plastic ties, this comes in handy if for some reason you need to apply downward pressure to the track you won't have to worry about separating the rails from the ties.
The gauge is milled out of one piece of T65 Aluminium and the base is milled .361 wide to fit snug in the rails. I also milled 3 slots in the center to allow you to nail or temporally super glue the track. (glue you ask? Yes, if you use a TINY bit of a GOOD super glue you can go back later and make adjustments to your track without having to pull nails and re-nail.
